Leaders of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and School have announced transition plans for the school following the impending departure of Head of School Emily Alexander on 12 Nov.
According to a letter sent to parents Monday, Alexander’s duties will largely be taken over by Head of Primary James Hickey and Head of Secondary Peter Embleton until a new Head of School is hired.
The letter, signed by Parish Administrator Naveen D’Souza, Hickey and Embleton, also mentions the upcoming inspection of St. Ignatius by the Office of Education Standards, stating, “The Senior Leadership Team is proactively preparing for the school inspection, anticipated this academic year.”
The letter states that advertising for the Head of School position is being finalised for the end of the week, that “multiple” applications for vacant teaching positions have been received and the position of head drama teacher has been filled.
The letter also includes an organisational chart of school leadership.
