Layman Scott student wins annual Spelling Bee

A pair of Cayman Brac students claimed first and second place in the annual Cayman Islands spelling bee competition last week.

The winner of the 37th annual Lion’s Club of Grand Cayman Secondary Spelling Bee is Tabitha Giscombe of Layman E. Scott Sr. High School. Second place is Suwayne Young-Watson, also of Layman Scott. Third place was a tie between Garson Gardiner of John Gray High School and Diego Myles of Calvary Baptist Christian Academy.

The annual competition is held in partnership with the Department of Education Services.
