St. George’s Preschool was rated ‘Satisfactory’ by the Office of Education Standards, in the first report to be published during the new cycle of school inspections.
‘Satisfactory’ is the minimum level of quality required for Cayman Islands schools, and is the same rating that St. George’s earned during its last inspection in January 2019.
“The Preschool leaders engaged in ongoing evaluation of the work of the preschool and consulted regularly with key stakeholders. As a consequence, the preschool’s improvement plan included specific and measurable targets for improvement,” according to the inspection report.
St. George’s earned ‘Satisfactory’ ratings in 12 of 14 indicators, with 2 ‘Good’ ratings. The school improved in the category of ‘Assessment’ and stayed the same in all other areas.
Inspectors rate schools in individual categories, using a scale of Weak/Satisfactory/Good/Excellent. The overall grade is determined according to the individual scores.
Because the school was rated ‘Satisfactory’, it will not be subject to a Follow-Through inspection, and will be inspected during the next cycle of inspections beginning in 2023.
