O’Connor-Connolly named Minister of Education again

Juliana O’Connor-Connolly has been named Minister of Education for Premier Wayne Panton‘s PACT government, following 4 years in the position with the former Progressives-led government.

According to a press release from the Office of the Premier, O’Connor-Connolly’s new ministerial portfolio includes Education, District Administration, Lands and Survey.

The Ministry of District Administration has oversight over government functions on the Sister Islands. O’Connor-Connolly represents the district of Cayman Brac East.

Katherine Ebanks-Wilks will serve as Parliamentary Secretary to support O’Connor-Connolly in Education, as well as Andre Ebanks in the Ministry of Financial Services.

Under the Progressives government, O’Connor-Connolly’s portfolio included Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture and Lands.

Bernie Bush has taken responsibility for Youth and Sports, while Jay Ebanks now has responsibility for Agriculture.

O’Connor-Connolly has served in a variety of positions in her legislative career, including Premier, Deputy Premier, Speaker of the House and on the Opposition bench.
