The following is a press release from the Ministry of Education:
The Ministry of Education (MOE) is now accepting Early Childhood Assistance Programme (ECAP) funding applications for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The ECAP programme is open to Caymanian children who turn three years old before 1 September 2022 and meet the means testing requirements specified on the application form.
Through the programme, eligible parents/guardians receive assistance with the payment of fees of up to $500.00 per month to early childhood centres.
To apply for ECAP funding, download the application form from https://www.gov.ky/publication-detail/ecap-application-document or collect an application form from the Government Administration Building, the Department of Education Services or early childhood centres across the Cayman Islands.
Submit completed application forms along with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, proof of the child’s Caymanian Status, a copy of the parents’ valid Government-issued photo identification, and proof of income to the reception desk at the Government Administration Building or via email to ecap@gov.ky.
The ECCE Unit will process applications upon receipt to ensure that all the required information has been submitted.
Members of the Oversight Committee will then review the submissions and base their final decision on the set criteria.
Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications before 1 September.
To request an application form or learn more about the ECAP Funding, please contact ECCE Officer Darbra Bodden by telephone at 244-3155, 936-0267 or email at ecap@gov.ky.
